Back in 1995 there was this new website called Match.com. I thought it was kind of a neat idea and they were giving out free accounts, so I joined. Later, when they went pay, they gave free lifetime memberships to their charter members. I don't really use it much, but I have gone out on a few dates from there over the years. I've had my profile turned off there for a while, but I still like to window shop occasionally.

So I went there today and they have a new feature, a Physical Attraction Test, which is supposed to determine what types you find most physically attractive. I'm a sucker for tests, so I took it. The test took about 20 minutes and consisted of multiple stages of either rating a photo, choosing the most attractive between photos/drawings, or selecting photos you find particularly appealing or unappealing. Some stages focused on the face, some on the body.

Since the goal here is determine trends, most of the models have one mildly exaggerated feature: a double-wide forehead, a particularly pointy chin, a huge mane of hair. This gave the whole test an eerie, subtle, freak-show vibe. It also made their testing methodology somewhat transparent, but it was fun nonetheless.

According to the test report, I'm most attracted to beautiful, small-framed pixies, who smirk, are between the ages of 20 and 35, and are Caucasian/Hispanic/Asian — either with or without glasses. I'd call that fairly accurate. The report also gives a detailed feature-by-feature analysis of what I did and did not like.

Hey, she's mine! That pretty much describes me too. I have probably a heavier bias towards women with glasses though. The sexy librarian look is so...mmmmmmmmm.
"small-framed pixies, who smirk"
Describes my last girlfriend to a tee. She was great. :)

Was she the person that you briefly introduced me to at the New Year's party, or was that someone else?

I do also dig the sexy librarian look.

"The Smirking Pixies"? Didn't they do that song "Lonely in the Library" a couple years ago? I think it was off the album "Small Framed". The video was really good...
